I feel that some people need to be more informed on the process of recuiting scholars on a topic such as Qumran and the Dead Sea Scrolls. First, I do not see relevance of “conservative” or “liberal” tags. Second, due to the size of our school we had to select only a few people and include some of our faculty who have written on the topic. Third we are planning a follow-up conference in 2012 that will include people that have different positions, plus the presence of Dead Sea Scroll materials. Judgments should not be made on things, people, or events that one does not know, see, and experience.

    Best Regards,

    Special Conference Chairman
Professor of New Testament and Greek
